Local Building Excellence Awards Print E-mail

On Thursday 21st May over 130 people attended the first Local Building Excellence Awards held in the Carriage Court at Kelham Hall, Newark. Newark & Sherwood District Council and Gedling Borough Council’s building control sections introduced the awards for builders and architects who have used their building control services, to recognise the high quality design and building work within their areas.

Over 40 awards were given covering work ranging from domestic loft and garage conversions to brand new schools and commercial projects. Award winners received a certificate, letter head logo that can be used on their headed business paper and a vehicle graphics sign to enable them to advertise their work when travelling.

All “Gold Standard” winners were nominated for the regional awards and of those nominated 3 were successful in being short listed. Dave Ewing, who organised the event, said “The Awards have been a tremendous success and we are delighted with the feedback, I hope that the owners, builders and architects involved will take pride in the recognition of their work and benefit from the award scheme”.
